sundeck overlooks the ocean and has a 26-metre
family pool and a children's pool, while
the health club houses an indoor pool, gym,
sauna, steam room, turbo shower, and hot
tub. The spa meanwhile offers treatments
and beauty services. Complimentary activities
include Portuguese and flower- arranging
lessons. Wireless Internet access (surcharge)
is available in public areas. A complimentary
bus transports guests daily to Funchal's
Old City, stopping en route at the marina.
Guests of Tivoli Ocean Park enjoy a complimentary
buffet breakfast each morning in the Atlantico
restaurant, which also offers dinner buffets.
The hotel has a fine-dining restaurant,
Boca do Cais, as well as an informal poolside
restaurant-bar, a lobby bar, and nightclub.
Aqua aerobics sessions take place daily
in the heated indoor pool. The health club
also has a squash court, aerobics and yoga
classes (surcharges). A ramp leads from
the outdoor-pool deck to Lido, an oceanfront
sports park, 50 metres away, which has saltwater
pools and a scuba-diving centre. Water sports
are available at Formosa Beach, two kilometres
away, and discounts are available for the
island's two golf courses, Palheiro and
Santo do Serra.
There are 317 guestrooms in a 10-storey,
ocean-facing building. Furnished balconies
and terraces provide side views of the ocean.
Spacious suite balconies have full ocean
views. Decor is contemporary with light
wood furniture and modern artworks. Marble
bathrooms have separate tubs and showers,
with bathrobes and slippers. Amenities include
minibars, safes (surcharge), and satellite
TV with pay movies.
Guests can hike along the centuries-old
levadas, irrigation channels that run from
the mountains throughout the island, by
the ocean, and through forests.
